This is great for brunch, or a great item to serve for ladies night, bunco, book club. I have gotten my children to eat a lot of broccoli this way.
Ingredients: |
2 cups chicken, chopped

1 cup broccoli chopped

1/2 cup red bell pepper, chopped

1 garlic clove, pressed

4 oz. sharp cheddar cheese (1 cup)

1/2 cup mayo

2 tsp. dill

1/4 tsp. salt

2 pkgs.cresent rolls

1 egg white, lightly beaten

2 Tbsp. slivered almonds

|
|

|
Directions: |
1.) preheat oven to 375, chop chicken, pepper, place in mixing bowl, add garlic and fold in.

2.) add cheese, mix gently, add mayo, dill, and salt.

3.) unroll 1 pkg. of crescent dough, do not separate. Arrange longest sides of dough across width of pan. Repeat with remaining pkg. of dough. Roll dough to seal.

4.) Cout dough into strips 11/2 inches apart, 3 inches deep (use a paring knife)

5.) Spread filling evenly over middle of dough.

6.) To braid, lift strips of dough across mixture to meet in center, twisting each strip one turn. Continue alternating to form braid. Tuck ends up to seal at end of braid.

7.) Brush with egg whites over dough using a pastry brush. Sprinkle with almonds. Bake 25-30 minutes until deep golden brown. Cut and serve.
